who is dating brendan frasier - Wpf selecteditem not updating

Now that we’ve got a decent understanding of the common binding properties of a Selector control (I hope! Given the following classes (only class signatures; the full sample project including source code is attached to this post): Note the use of “Mode=One Way” in my Items Source bindings.

The XAML looks like this: using a data binding to my Selected Names property.

With that in place the Selected Names collection in my View Model is updated whenever Selected Items on the List Box changes.

As no one gave me an answer, I was forced to use my gray-matter and invent a solution of my own.

Since a similar question came up again recently on Stack Overflow, I thought I’d share what I came up with.

For the Selected Item and Selected Value bindings, I do not set a mode – this is because “Mode=Two Way” is the default.

Two Way means that we want to update the property on the View Model when the selection changes, and if the property on the View Model changes we want to update the Selected Item/Selected Value on the Combo Box. I've been intrigued by computers since I was 12, staying in at recess to code QBASIC on the old Apple II. , to which the combo box still appears to hold a reference at this moment – which brings it down to a question of proper coercion.

Or maybe not – the reason behind this is not entirely clear to me.

A few weeks ago, a friend convinved me to start looking into WPF, XAML and the MVVM pattern. NET Web Forms & MVC2 applications and core system design/development, I haven’t had any exposure to these new(er) technologies, and I thought it might be fun to see what all of the fuss is about. I am using terms in this post in a way which assumes that you are using the MVVM pattern.
